Child abuse not a violent crime? Not only is it a violent crime, it’s an 85% crime (a sentencing classification above violent crime), that carries up to LIFE in prison with no prior felony convictions. SQ 805 will not change this at all.

Good thing the sheriff giving these quotes isn’t an attorney, because they clearly have no idea what the law says.

Also - the line about repeat offenders facing “fine only” after numerous convictions? SQ 805 will not change the fact that any felony conviction carries prison time. Either a prosecutor is agreeing to a sentence of fines only or a jury is - and what does that say about the case?
