A thread
It& #39;s Wednesday, October 7, 2020...the day before the final 7 episodes of Supernatural start airing. Tomorrow the countdown begins to the last episode of Supernatural ever. A lot of feelings and emotions around this.
Supernatural is one of the few things that has been a constant for over a decade and a half. A lot happens in that length of time: marriage, divorce, birth, death, job changes, living arrangements...the list goes on.
The ending of Supernatural also happens to coincide with the countdown to voting and what that means for America.
I feel a bit anxious that one of the few constants I& #39;ve had in my world for a long period of time is going away, and to be honest, I& #39;m a bit nervous about the upcoming election and what it could mean for our country.
What makes both less stressful is knowing a few things: 1) The Supernatural fandom will live on, 2) the legacy of Supernatural is continuing with a new generation of watchers, 3) nothing ever really dies on Supernatural, 4) Americans have had enough of profit before people, 5)…
…like the Winchesters, good always defeats evil.
I have high hopes for a movie and/or a mini series with the format of a 6-episode arc on either the CW or one of the streaming platforms (I& #39;m looking at you Netflix).
In recent interviews both Jensen and Jared said they would be game, AND, in an interview a few days ago, they boys shared an idea for a "Naked Gun" type episode they came up with along with Richard Speight Jr.
I don& #39;t think I will be able to hear Europe& #39;s "The Final Countdown" without thinking of Supernatural and the boys. Or our anthem "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kansas. I am confident we will be fine as a fandom. How do I know?
Because this is not the last time we& #39;ll be seeing Jensen and Jared. Both already have projects lined up and it& #39;s only the beginning.
So...one last time, let& #39;s kick it in the a**.
