It's Wednesday, October 7, 2020...the day before the final 7 episodes of Supernatural start airing. Tomorrow the countdown begins to the last episode of Supernatural ever. A lot of feelings and emotions around this.
Supernatural is one of the few things that has been a constant for over a decade and a half. A lot happens in that length of time: marriage, divorce, birth, death, job changes, living arrangements...the list goes on.
The ending of Supernatural also happens to coincide with the countdown to voting and what that means for America.
I feel a bit anxious that one of the few constants I've had in my world for a long period of time is going away, and to be honest, I'm a bit nervous about the upcoming election and what it could mean for our country.
What makes both less stressful is knowing a few things: 1) The Supernatural fandom will live on, 2) the legacy of Supernatural is continuing with a new generation of watchers, 3) nothing ever really dies on Supernatural, 4) Americans have had enough of profit before people, 5)…
…like the Winchesters, good always defeats evil.
I have high hopes for a movie and/or a mini series with the format of a 6-episode arc on either the CW or one of the streaming platforms (I'm looking at you Netflix).
In recent interviews both Jensen and Jared said they would be game, AND, in an interview a few days ago, they boys shared an idea for a "Naked Gun" type episode they came up with along with Richard Speight Jr.
that didn't fit in with the show's ending episodes, but they very much want to do.
I don't think I will be able to hear Europe's "The Final Countdown" without thinking of Supernatural and the boys. Or our anthem "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kansas. I am confident we will be fine as a fandom. How do I know?
Because this is not the last time we'll be seeing Jensen and Jared. Both already have projects lined up and it's only the beginning.

So...one last time, let's kick it in the a**.
