When it comes to fandom autopsies/thinkpieces, I've always loved @JennyENicholson's takes, because she comes to the topics she covers with encyclopaedic knowledge and respect. Otherwise, I find it hard to actually learn about the fandom in question if I sense judgment or derision

One of my favorites of hers was the brony documentary she made a few months ago. Absolutely fascinating social commentary - I felt like I learned so much about that fandom, as well as fandoms generally, to be honest.

I knew nothing about the Sn*pewives subfandom before that piece dropped, and honestly I feel like I know very little now because it was clearly written from a place of pretty nasty judgment. Really does the topic, and the experiences as a WOC the author mentioned, a disservice.
