Yes, let us talk about the full mailer that you sent out. I love that you think this will somehow come out as a win for you. I don& #39;t usually engage the trolls, but I& #39;m going to make this one time exception.

On your mailer, you imply that I wrote the following quote: https://twitter.com/NEGOP/status/1314321707709140992">https://twitter.com/NEGOP/sta...
The mailer said I wrote the following quote "The more you learn about United States History, the harder it is to defend." This implies that I& #39;m bashing US history, which I definitely wasn& #39;t. Let& #39;s look at the ACTUAL quote that you cherry picked from:
"The challenge with the traditional American Exceptionalism theory is that the more you learn about United States history, the harder it is to defend." See, the article I wrote was about modernizing the idea of Exceptionalism to be more well rounded and better for civic life.
Funny how you chose to NOT use some of these quotes

"There is no doubt that the United States is exceptional."
Or this one:

"The strength of our democratic institutions lie in each generation’s conscious choice to pick up the mantle and carry forward, as educated, engaged citizens who actively participate in the mission to continually improve this country."
Or this one:

"The genius of the Founders is that they have laid out overarching principles into a clear and simple framework that has continued to hold fast stay relevant over the centuries. "
Or this?

"We must continue to teach the vision of the United States as the work of forming a shining city upon a hill, built around “the great principles (of the Declaration of Independence) and the genius of American institutions,” as Frederick Douglass once described..."
Read my article. My whole point was to TRULY make sure we follow the vision laid out by our founders, we need to study our strengths to build on them, AND acknowledge our failures to rectify them. I can& #39;t think of anything more patriotic: https://medium.com/s/story/the-trouble-with-the-two-americas-33607f7cc48f">https://medium.com/s/story/t...
And feel free to check out all the retweets from students and parents in the community. They speak to the experiences in the classroom far more than I can. And I& #39;d love to defend my background, but that would require that my opponent actually agree to even a single debate.
In the meantime, continue to tell people that an article that positively quotes RONALD REAGAN is proof that I taught my students to hate America...
