y'all need to understand that the abusers ALWAYS will make themselves look like the victims when the actual victims speaks up. especially men because most people don't trust women when they talk about that stuff
as women, we're taught that if a man is violent towards us, if he tries to assault us (in a sexual or non sexual way) it's because we were "asking for it". and even if we're fighting, there's still this awful common knowledge that it's the women's duty to "stay safe"
it's women's job to learn how to defend themselves. it's women's job to learn how to dress up "properly" or else they'll get raped. it's women's job to smile and stay quiet when a man makes them uncomfortable.
it's the same when it comes to abuse. the woman was abused by her boyfriend because she must have done something, or you know "you must hear both sides of the story" because she might be lying for "attention". no. if a woman tells you she's been abused, believe her.
Bob Morley is an abuser.
Blake Jenner is an abuser.
Arryn Zech is a survivor.
Melissa Benoist is a survivor.

think about how horrible it must be to be talking about a trauma and people are doubting you. talking about those things is as hard as living them. don't joke about it.
