The only thing I can think of is that the writer of Hobo With a Shotgun (he the most insane & amazing ideas) had a script in 2006 NOBODY wanted called "Pray for Santa" - which was a bloody violent movie featuring a washed-up angry Santa. Here are some others no one wanted... https://twitter.com/IGN/status/1314068252541288448
He had a strange romantic period piece called Fisher Man about a young boy who after being lost at sea, was found & raised by fish - became a fish-man himself & was captured & experimented on until a researcher helps him escape. They fall in love & knock boots underwater. (2007)
Space Critic (2009) was about a ragtag team of filmmakers that are tasked to make the greatest movie ever told when a race of Aliens kidnap the planet and threaten to destroy Earth and other worlds unless they could make an amazing movie in a competition to the death.
that same year he wrote an outline about a dystopian story about a society that allowed competition where people could go commit acts of vigilantism on anyone and anything and eliminate anyone that game them grievances.
He pitched all those. stories and them with such joy that they sounded amazing, funny, and strange. BUT NO ONE WANTED THEM.
Now here we are a decade later, and by coincidence, every one of these ideas has been made and thought of by someone else. And done - with massive success. The moral of the story kids. NEVER STOP PITCHING YOUR IDEAS.
I can think of six more stories that he has never gotten produced that are as wild and as crazy. But those haven't been thought of yet. Maybe. MAYBE someone down there will call up Mr. John Davies and say hey, I heard you have some amazing ideas and scripts....
And for real. It was all coincidence. Because every story you think of, has already been thought of, and every story you are trying to made, is being made. Go now.
