nonblacks you need to ask yourself, what is being said or can be said to you that isn’t also being said about black people you know?
what metric of betrayal, of violation can you call upon, that isn’t also betraying and violating any black person in your life and around you?
what are you experiencing that they are not, that warrants their empathy, their energy or support?

and how do you support them in what they’re going through, that you are not? are you even unaware? or, can you put a name to their experiences?
what changes should they be making to support you? have you even considered making those changes for them?
if not, you need to confront if you’re asking for [a] someone to care, or if you’re asking for a [something] to bear your burden alongside you
