Hi B-section tweeps. There have been a number of questions and comments re. the AGU Fall Meeting schedule. Here are some answers...
1st off--we hear you re. the schedule. It was purposefully designed to be inclusive (for folks in EVERY timezone), but that means that there are non-ideal times for some. The AGU's page does a good job of explaining the intent: https://www.agu.org/fall-meeting
The 4-min oral speaking slots are meant to be a quick re-cap of the 15min pre-recorded talks. The live sessions will focus on short overview presentations and then moderated discussions and Q&A with the session chairs.
In addition to the 15-min talk (platform instructions coming soon!), each presenter may also prepare one or two highlight/overview slides. These will be uploaded and provided to the session chairs at least two days before the live session is scheduled
Presenters & session chairs will participate in live 1hr oral sessions. Each presenter will give a brief overview of their abstract using the few slides provided to the session chair; the chairs will then moderate a Q&A session with presenters & registered meeting attendees.
The platform instructions are going to include information on accessibility (captioning, alternate languages, etc.)
Yes, the pre-record upload date is VERY early—Nov 20th. We are working to see if there's some flexibility...
eLightning sessions: a one-hour live session featuring three-minute oral talks w/ an overview of presenters’ digital posters, followed by discussion. Presenters will also schedule time for text chats with attendees. This will be recorded and available later.
Posters: scheduled over the course of one day, w presenters there at a time they designate to discuss their digital poster
Authors will create an iPoster presentation in the dedicated software by Nov 2o. Audio and video can be included
Poster presenters will schedule a text chat on the day of the poster session and can make additional text chat times as they wish.
