The juvenile form of Shagaru Magala, Gore Magala is an elusive elder dragon, whose classification was once a mystery to the Guild. Before its true identity and nature were revealed, Gore Magala was thought to be a new species of wyvern of some kind.
Before its discovery, Gore Magala was reported as a "mysterious black monster" that kept frequently appearing in various places and bringing calamity with it wherever it sudden appeared.
Organizations couldn't identify the elder dragon at the time due to it not matching any known monsters, which is the reason why was "???" was its classification for a long time, and there being no existing documents about this particular monster.
Since Gore Magala was clearly mysterious and dangerous, the Hunter's Guild made a special task force, the Ace Hunters, to follow the monster's movements in secret to prevent public panic.
Although this team the Guild made was elite, this monster proved to be more aggressive than they thought.
One of Gore Magala's most striking features is its wings. Folded on its back like a cape, Gore Magala drags the ends of its wings on the ground as it wanders from place to place. Gore Magala usually walks in a hunch-like position as it walks on all fours.
Like most other elder dragons, Gore Magala is capable of flying with its wings and does so with great skill, but it also has another use for its wings that'll be described later.
It's theorized that this monster's ancestors were originally either cave dwellers or lived underground, and this is supported by the fact that this monster is blind. Gore Magala doesn't have eyes and relies on another specialized sense to see its environment.
On its wings are hair-like scales that frequently fall off its body and regrow due to its abnormally high metabolism. As it drags the ends of its wings on the ground, it'll leave these scales behind as it wanders through its habitat.
When Gore Magala senses an enemy or prey within an area, it'll scatter these specialized scales around the area, leaving them to fly around the field, in various ways to discover the location of whatever other creatures are nearby.
By attaching these scales to other creatures, it can detect the heat generated by the scales to pick up the exact location of its victims. Certain parts of Gore Magala's wings will begin to change color as its senses increase.
When Gore Magala's senses reach their peak, two antennae, known as feelers, will come out of its head, and it'll release a large amount of its scales out of its wings into the air of the surrounding area, darkening the sky, as it enters its Frenzy State.
In its Frenzy State, Gore Magala can clearly see everything in its environment now, and it'll attack wildly since it can now see the exact positioning of its victims. Not only does Gore Magala become more aggressive in this state, but it'll also start using its "wingarms".
Thought to have evolved as a result of a malformation that didn't disappear with its ancestors, which eventually became a part of its species' genetics, Gore Magala walks on six legs rather than four while in its Frenzy State and uses its wingarms violently in combat.
Gore Magala is fully capable of smashing into the ground, slashing prey, rushing down enemies, and even holding victims with its wingarms. Gore Magala has also been reported blocking attacks with its wingarms as it fights hunters.
From all of the scattered scales in the air around Gore Magala while it's in the Frenzy State, the monster can generate a spark in its mouth that'll cause a chain of dust explosions to occur in front of it, dealing serious damage to any creatures caught within the blast.
While in its Frenzy State, Gore Magala will stay in a single area and won't leave due to it essentially marking that place as its territory when it enters that state.
If Gore Magala's feelers take too much damage, its senses will decrease greatly, and it'll return to its normal state. Since the feelers are considered Gore Magala's lifeline, the monster can't function properly if they're wounded.
Gore Magala is a predator that has been seen preying upon lesser species, and its abnormal strength and scales make it a danger to larger monsters as well.
A pair of hunters have reported seeing a Gore Magala snapping a Tigrex's spine with its wingarms, instantly killing the flying wyvern. Despite competing with other powerful predators, Gore Magala has rarely been seen with any wounds or scars on its body.
Not only is Gore Magala strong, but its shown to be quite intelligent. Some are known to play dead before slipping away and escaping from the battlefield when given an opportunity too.
