Paul Pogba’s best season for United was his first - 16/17.

He started to play poorly towards the end of 17/18 and was really bad early 18/19. He had a good few months towards the end of 18/19 and we hardly saw him in 19/20.

That’s Pogba’s United career in a nutshell.
I feel the club have let him down but on the flip side, Pogba has let the club down.

He was obviously promised more than this but he has to look at himself too.

He’s never reached the level he’s capable of - despite playing in multiple different roles and systems.
Looking back to the end of 17/18 and beginning of 18/19, when he had the falling out with Mourinho, it was probably for the best he left then.

Jose was at the point he demanded more from our record signing and Pogba clearly didn’t want to do what was being asked of him.
It was tough love. A similar thing is happening with Ndombele at Spurs now who looks to have responded positively and professionally.

The Pogba feud was a key part in the downward spiral - and Pogba won. Mourinho was sacked and Pogba remained.
Now we have a player who still wants to leave. If not for the pandemic, he’d have probably been gone.

He’s not delivering on the pitch (not the only one) and I doubt Solskjaer has the bottle to call him out or drop him - purely for the trouble it'd cause (see 18/19).
I love Pogba. I remember his (second) debut against Southampton when Ibra got 2 thinking he'll be the one to lead us to a title. He's so, so good and that's the frustration.

Project Pogba is coming to an end I think. The sooner, the better - for everyone.
