Vikings used to honor their dead in 1 of 2 ways: Cremation or Burial.The Earlier Vikings were more into Cremation. As Christianity took over, they moved into Burying their dead underground.Now, Eivor's gang in #ACValhalla would be more on the Cremation side...2/10
When #Vikings cremated their dead,they made sure the heat temp. was hot enough for body cremation.1k C or 2k F of heat did the trick

BURIALS were Viking custom too!Scandinavia has 100s of #Viking Burial grounds!Largest=600 graves that are from Viking Age.Each Circle of stone is shaped like a & is for one that had great merit in Community.High status ppl were buried w/ their boat!
