3.6/ B. Immediate implementation of #NMT ( none motorised transport) infrastructure. It is a municipal role. This includes improvement of conditions for walking trips, improving sidewalks, removal of obstructions (parked vehicles, poles etc.),strict enforcement of NO PARKING.
4.6/ C. A #public_awareness_campaign encouraging #walking_trips, highlighting its #health benefits and encouraging use of comfortable walking #water_proof footware and investing in #umbrellas and #rain_coats.
5.6/ D. Improvement of road conditions to encourage safe biking by men,women, of all ages. This requires PROTECTED bike lanes carved out of #on_street_parking & driving lanes. Municipalities of all cities should be provided with expertise and funds for immediate implementation.
6.6 / Targeted #subsidies to #informal_public_transport (vans, midi-bus, servees) only upon meeting specific conditions related to roadworthiness and respect of traffic ordinances. This may prove to be trickiest to implement to avoid misuse and profiteering by transport mafias.
