If Madrid wanted Pogba he'd have gone there last summer, when they spent £300m on not him and United didn't mind getting rid. He's entitled to work where he likes, but it's slightly odd to publicly discuss plans when last weekend he was part of a team that lost 6-1 at home.
Ultimately, one reason Ole is struggling to balance the team is that Pogba doesn't contribute anywhere near enough. When you lose 1-6 there need to be changes and consequences, and's time for him – and De Gea, and Matic – to sit at the side.
I'd bring in Henderson because the defence will improve with a keeper who organises and won't just stay on his line; Tuanzebe because what else you gonna do; and McT because he offers some arsehole, and has the drive and physique to allow for two attacking midfielders.
McT can also drop in as third centre-back, necessary when others are attacking. Talking of which, if your other two midfielders are VdB and Bruno, you know that as well as scoring and creating goals in proper numbers, the shift you'll get out of them will make a 4-3-3 work.
Ultimately, a 1-6 home tousing should force Ole to be bold. Staying loyal to players who've let him down repeatedly will get him nowhere and eventually cost him his job.
To clarify, I don’t think McT solves it all - he’s a box-to-box not a sitter - but his athleticism and leadership is more necessary than Fred’s passing and dribbling imo. 3-5-2 is an option, especially with Telles, but I’d be loth to omit a good striker for another crap defender.
