I'm being fucked up by "wishlist" being on the tracklist because I'm thinking of all the things I planned on doing this year that's...simply not happened because of the pandemic. and all those kids who couldn't have graduation ceremonies, or hang out with friends during vacation.
txt really know where to hit hard... the microhistory of youth, the days we've lost to time and real life being terrible, it's about individual experience - how we lost the entire summer, how a friend's ghosting can feel like the world is gonna end... it's the little things.
like it's no secret that I love txt's music dearly just for their sound alone but the themes are hitting particularly close to home this time... how can music about an experience that centers on our online interactions be at once so deeply individual and yet universal
AND LIKE the RAWEST thing about it is how bright the concepts are bc it's our social interaction masks, isn't it. it's the equivalent of gen z being in complete mental agony over something so "minor" it feels ridiculous tweeting you want to die? then perish (spongebob_gun.jpg)
think of it like this. if BTS HYYH was the nostalgia of the youth we dreamed of having, TXT's Dream Chapter is the nostalgia for the youth we lost, to time and because we're flawed human beings
and after a certain age... wanting things you can't have becomes a sadness of its own.
I mean the BU and TU in general really but. yeah.
