For clarity on the Titans situation. This is what we actually know:
1. There is an NFL/NFLPA investigation that could result in discipline if Titans didn't follow protocols.
2. The Sept. 30 off-site player workout is PART of the investigation, but not its sole focus. (more)
1. There is an NFL/NFLPA investigation that could result in discipline if Titans didn't follow protocols.

3. NFL/NFLPA also looking into how the virus entered Titans' facility and how it spread. Were masks not worn properly? Were protocols not followed during team travel? Etc. This is more important than whether players should be disciplined for working out together. (more)
4. As to the Sept. 30 player workout: Titans and Vikings were both told Sept. 29 that facilities were closed and there could be no in-person activity, either at facility or away from it. Whether/how that info was communicated by team to players is part of investigation. (more)
5. NFL/NFLPA do NOT want to make teams forfeit games. That is a last-resort idea that would only come into play if rescheduling proved impossible and a team proved responsible. Titans-Bills is likely to be rescheduled, even if other games have to move to accommodate.
Bottom line: This is all more complicated than any of us ever thought we'd have to prepare for. League, teams, players, media are all figuring it out as we go. Anyone who insists they have a simple solution is wrong, delusional and, frankly, unhelpful.
