And here we go again... The reduction of VAT on train tickets (one of the Convention's measures) has been rejected by parliament. In June, when the Convention's Citizens voted, they had cold feet about putting their measures out for referendum. The citizens handed over the responsibility of translating the measures into legislations to the elected representatives. At the time, some said it was a shame and a missed opportunity to not have a referendum on key measures. Others saw it as a wise move from the citizens.
I wonder how the 150 citizens feel right now. We should find out soon as an 8th session of the Convention is planned. Its objective: A response from the citizens to the response from Macron on the measures. Still with me?
@les150ccc c'est pour quand la 8eme session? ⏳
How do #delibdem dock into representative democracy?? Right now in France that's a pretty hot topic! @Smith1966G @Bankfieldbecky @GrahamAllenMPX @RSAMatthew
