NEW: Euston Road bike lane will be removed,
@TfL commissioner Andy Byford tells @LondonAssembly

It was introduced to encourage cycling in the post-Covid recovery period but has been blamed for road congestion.

Mr Byford says there is an "adjacent bike lane" that can be used.
Tory assembly member @Tony_Devenish has now asked for the Park Lane cycle lane to be axed.

He told the @TfL commissioner: "It would be really helpful, in terms of congestion, if you could get that one removed."

Mr Devenish said there was a cycle lane nearby in Hyde Park.
Green assembly member @CarolineRussell points out that part of the Euston Road cycle lane was due to be removed in any case to make way for HS2 work at Euston station
