I really wish people actually really tried to understand that ADHD can be very tough to live with and that medication isn’t meant to make you smarter or whatever
my best friend - who has a great full time job, lives by herself, speaks three languages - missed her doctors appointment to get a refill and now she’s being told off for pacing by her building admin because she can’t avoid moving, “every number looks the same”, feels grumpier.
in people with ADHD, medication actually makes them calmer. it’s not medication to be super efficient and get all the cleaning done in the house. it clarifies your thoughts/undoes the brain fog, helps you plan ahead and self-regulate, and it helps with mood as well.
