Interesting study, I know may be a difficult read for people involved in the history of harm reduction in self harm which predates and differs significantly from the way the term is now used. Is there any scope for that history being understood by the research community? https://twitter.com/kiwirowebot/status/1314158175717818368
How the research community knows what it knows about a topic often doesn’t take into account important lived experience history. Harm reduction in self harm is an area I didn’t used to know enough about the history of. Listening has changed the way I talk and think about it.
It’s really important we can do work that looks at the type of techniques this study looks at, but as someone who used to not appreciate the full history of harm reduction in self harm, the history is also really important. It’s different to what we call HR now. @KiwiRowebot
