Yes on the outside and to everyone watching it can look like a win or loss.

People judge what they see, you could have been going to a gym a week ago but didn’t mention it to anyone that you’re improving.

Well they didn’t know you ARE...but what matters is that YOU know...
If you want to go from black to white or white to black....it has to pass through grey, and this is what grey looks like:

1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% + 1% 1% + 1% + 1% etc
As long as YOU are aware that you’re giving it a step each day or each time (progress, not perfection) then what anyone says “technically” shouldn’t matter...what matters is you’re 1% ahead of the old you....
Example: You don’t go to a restaurant and see people leaving and say to yourself “oh they’re SO lucky, they ate and I didn’t eat yet”.

I doubt you envy them.

What you do is focus on yourself and enjoy your own journey of walking in, ordering, and enjoy the wait, right?
Some people discourage themselves cuz the 1% could’ve been 5% or 20%.

Be a good FRIEND to yourself, not a hater.

1% each time may be safer than aiming for a huge chunk like 20% just cuz you’re in a hurry.

I’d rather do slow, steady and comfortable rather than fast and risky
Know the saying “bite off more than they could chew”?

Yeah, aiming high is great...WHEN DONE WISELY. Not like biting off a huge piece of steak and then choking. For what? In a hurry? Trying to impress someone?
And only YOU could tell if aiming higher, as in turning that daily 1% into 1.5% or 2% daily, is due. Sometimes getting advice or an outside TRUSTED opinion can help also. But eventually work towards being able to do it independently.
If you’re trying to change a habit that took you YEARS, I think the 1% method is safer because it’s a battle between:

“Bad YEARS” vs “GOOD days”

If we let the years over-power the days, we “lose” and we don’t want that.
