So to be clear, in many parts of the UK you're facing a FOUR YEAR wait to be seen at at GiC clinic. That doesn't meant you're gonna get hormones at the end of those four years btw. It's fully possible they'll just go 'hmmm we're not sure you're trans enough, come back in a year'
And now TERFs have put the slightest pressure on @TheGPhC they've stop giving hormones to trans people who go private. This is using the politics of austerity, combined with hysteria against trans people, to mandate trans people out of existence. That is what this is.
This is why I can't talk about trans issues to cis people anymore. I get too angry and sad that they clearly do not care. That you can say this to the majority of cis people and the majority of tune out, or secretly agree that transition should be as difficult as humanly possible
We are basically making it illegal to transition in many parts of the UK. We're actively, MATERIALLY making transition impossible in so many ways. Not just medically. *Why* would you transition right now in journalism or academia when they are so outwardly hostile to trans folk?
This thread is full of spelling mistakes cause I'm emotional lol. But really, if you know that there is no private way to legally transition now in the UK, and functionally often no way to do it on the NHS, and that doesn't upset you? Examine why. (It's probably transphobia)
