#VPDebate let’s talk about #KamalaHarris @KamalaHarris. A thread. From a Canadian who knows almost zero about US politics (and knowledge aboot Canadian politics is shifty).

Tonight, Kamala has conducted herself with grace and poise. She has not interrupted, spoken out of turn or lobbed false information in this war of the words.

She has been calm (how??) and has kept every aggressive knee-jerk eye roll and guffaw in check.

Why? What can’t she just be a buzz saw like Trump, or an indignant over talker like Pence? It’s because it’s not allowed. Women, and especially minority women, can’t do that. Not allowed.

All of a sudden that would discredit her, simply by virtue of her anatomy and skin colour. Tegardless@of your political positioning and her arguments, just know that this woman has so many barriers to content with, just to be heard and considered.

This thread is actually not about the election at all (but American friends should def vote Biden Harris!). This is just a lesson and an example of what intelligent and capable women have to contend with, just to get a seat at the table or just to rise higher than that table.
