It's a little concerning that people in this thread want to stick it to the YIMBYs. I'm a DSA member and I think YIMBYism is pretty central to any kind of housing justice.
Also, I'm winnable on the idea that a particular type of gas tax might not be effective for transit revenue, particularly because I think gas taxes should be so high they discourage use. But then the website should spell that out, and Fiedler doesn't.
So not to both sides everyone, but there is kind of a both sides here. It would be good to tax the rich for transit, but my fellow leftists need to take their heads out of the sand about Pigouvian taxes. They work.
