I think I'll cave and just post a series of sporadic tweets on my thoughts about SMTIV (and some Strange Journey thoughts) because I'll just end up calling Atlus cowards about their writing at a certain point and I don't know how to sugarcoat that so, here goes
Before I get to that though I fucking love the soundtrack, that's what drove me to play the game in the first place and I'm surprised to say I love the area/dungeon songs more than the battle themes, they never got old and I hope a similar energy is given to the area songs in 5
Its surprising because I try and check what other game Ryota Kozuka was the main composer of and DeSu2 seems to be it and I don't remember a single song from that game (I also haven't played it much so there's that) but the songs in IV are very distinct and stick in my mind
Also, and this is prob the only time I'll mention gameplay in this thread, bosses became increasingly easier as the game went on to the point that I can't remember what Markabah's and Lucifer's gimmicks were, I beat them both first time. Complete opposite to Strange Journey...
...where the boss fights with Mem Aleph and Shekinah were more than just throwing spaghetti at the wall and was nervewracking even after you figured out what their "pattern" was. The SMTIV final bosses didn't have that puzzle-like quality that I praised early on my playthrough
