Pipelines carrying different crudes and chemicals across the country

You may know Keystone XL, but there are 2.4 MILLION miles of underground pipeline just in the US

An analogy on how you can apply how they operate to your life

THREAD
Pipelines need to be inspected every 3-5 years to check for defects that may cause problems (cracks, dents, welds)

These can happen from normal wear and tear or from 3rd parties

Your life and systems need to be checked similarly

Use the right tools to find the defects

Iterate
You want to optimize the pipeline by upgrading equipment and minimizing downtime

Replace pumps and meters, find where you can put more through the line

Upgrade the existing tools you have (digital/manual, sleep, diet, etc) in order to improve your throughput
Occasionally things break, and as an operator you want to minimize the release and figure out a solution

You need to be creative in your solutions. Plug it, redirect it, mobilize, and EXECUTE effectively

When your system breaks, focus on controlling and mitigating the leak
Analogies help us understand the world by telling us a story
