I'm learning to be less adversarial with my players, as I DM more and more sessions. People roll characters with strengths for a reason, and I've realized that it's the DM's job to celebrate those strengths, not conquer or break them. Gotta a smooth talker in your party with
high charisma? Engage that. Give them someone to banter with! Got a combat heavy PC that can really dish it out? Give them a monster or three with lots of HP to blast through! Gotta unbreakable paladin? Let them hold the line against a small horde of undead! I'm not
saying that every session should be a cakewalk or play directly into their strengths, but people roll characters because they want to contribute and feel strong, If you the DM are doing your best to prevent that, how do you think that makes the player feel? Food for thought. 🧡🧡
