This weekend is the Thanksgiving long weekend. I know this isn't the type of holiday anyone would want and that no amount of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie can replace the presence of your extended family. /1
Our advice is clear:
✔️Please do not hold big Thanksgiving gatherings.
✔️Please limit your Thanksgiving dinners and other gatherings to people you live with, under the same roof, all of the time.
✔️And if you live alone, the safest option is to join with others virtually. /2
It doesn't mean you can't find ways to have a happy Thanksgiving and I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving as different as it may be this year.

But please remember, your actions this weekend will help us stop the spread of #COVID19 and will protect your loved ones. /3
It is one more sacrifice people are being asked to make during this crisis and as @JustinTrudeau says – following the rules, difficult as it may be at Thanksgiving, will give us a shot at a Christmas with all of the trimmings, including healthy family members. /4
I also want to thank people who are following public health advice and changing their plans to respect that advice. It’s the right thing to do. /End
