I DO NOT THINK the Lions are that far off from being what they want to be. I know that sounds absolutely moronic given what happened in the second quarter vs. the saints and the last 37 games with Matt Patricia. Allow me to explain why I feel this way (YeeHaw a long thread....)

(It won't be that long) I will begin with Matt Patricia who I am not defending in this thread. His coaching has been awful, it is very obvious the defense's collapse is his fault, however, I don't think it is as bad as it looks nor is that far off from being where it should be.

I was thinking about the Packers and Saints games. The Bears game collapse in the fourth quarter is another thing entirely. For the Packers and Saints defensive failures observe how it was the run defense that collapsed in both games.
