weight loss tips from korean youtubers: a thread
i am not encouraging anyone to follow any tips. this is just information that i gathered from the internet.
i took all of my tips from korean youtube’s and their videos. the youtubers that i took tips from are heyplain 헤이플레인, 세리티 serity, 옐라 YELLA. definitely recommend checking them out for more details and content :)
these youtubers usually diet for a week straight. since they diet straight for a week, they don’t have cheat days. they are able to lose about 3kg and keep it off
eating windows
- most of them do intermittent fasting. the fast usually fast for about 16-18 hours before eating
- during the hours they are fasting, their bodies are burning fat
caloric intake
- for short term diets, they usually eat 400-800 calories a day without much exercise
- for long term diet, they eat 800-1300 calories a day with exercise
eating clean
- they lose weight relatively fast because they eat very clean
- they avoid junk food. each meal contains some kind of fruit or vegetable
- almost all of their meals are home made
meals
- they usually have two meals per day. either breakfast and lunch. or lunch and dinner
- having two meals a day fits into their eating window
food
breakfast:
- yogurt + fruit (strawberries or banana)
- bread w jam + fruit
lunch + dinner:
- rice w chicken breast + sweet potato
- tofu or eggs + sweet potato
- eggs w chicken breast + cherry tomatoes
- a salad w/o dressing + eggs
more meal ideas:
- oatmeal w strawberries + berries
- toast w one egg + grapes
- yogurt w apples + granola
- eggs + apples
- bread w yogurt + fruits such as apples or guava
no snacking
- they barely ever snack. they have filling meals that are low cal instead
- if they do snack, they snack on fruit such as berries or grapes, protein bars
- the most common foods they eat are sweet potatoes, chicken breast, eggs, tofu, brown rice
- common fruits + veggies are apples, grapes, cucumbers, berries, bananas
- common drinks are iced coffee, black coffee, green tea
- lots of water!
exercise:
- they exercise for about an hour and usually on an empty stomach
- they often take walks at the end of the day
- light cardio, yoga, pilates, light weights
- light weights help to tone instead of building muscle
- they exercise about 3-5 days a week but walk daily
exercise
- a lot of them do light exercises in bed for about 10-20 minutes
- some examples: crunches, ab crunches, sit ups, crisscrosses, leg raises, side leg lifts, knee tucks
long term diets
- for longer diets, they eat more cals (800-1300) and exercise more often and regularly
- they have more snacks to avoid binges or burnout
- they also have about two cheat meals a week
moderation + treating yourself
- they have cheat days and they don’t slow down their progress since they eat healthy most of the time
- they are a lot less strict on their periods
- it also helps with preventing binges and burnout
