You'd think for a someone earning between 10 and 15k a month it would be easy to find a nice single bedroom appartment, but turns out stupid mistakes I made when I was 21 really screwed the pooch.

I got married at 21, many of you will remember that ended horribly in 2012. Well I was stuck with the debt of that marriage and have only now actually recovered financially. Soon I'll have a debt clearance certificate issued by the NCR. And I will be essentially debt free! Yay!

So now, even with what I earn and a relatively good but steady income for 3 years (knives included) it would be easy to find a 1 bedroom apartment.... Well actually not.

I've applied for and paid for rental applications for about 5 places now, Al between R4800 and R6500 a month, after telling estate agents that I am waiting for a clearance certificate, and a letter from my accountant stating I'm debt free and can afford this.... Only to be told

Sure dude, you're a nice guy, apply and I'm sure it will be fine... Well 3k and a bit later in application fees (they all want their own credit reports and fees) I have been declined for every. Single. One.

I'm looking for someone that's will give me a chance, I can pay a deposit off over 2 months, afford up to 6500 a month, I'm really wanting a one-bedroom in a safe area anything in Somerset west, Strand or Gordons bay. I need to get my life back on track again.

So there is a place called De Velde, the rent is like 6k a month. Some of these places have been empty for a while. They'd rather let them stay empty than look at my bank statements and see I can afford it. Any how. Kids, don't marry unless you're sure.
