Pluto in Scorpio is the generation of betrayal, yes, but formatively it was betrayal by the adults and structures of the world around us, leading to a struggle to ever feel safe or okay.

They gave us participation trophies which taught us adults lie and made it hard for us to ever feel good or trust recognition for our efforts.

Our coming-of-age years were bookended by 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis—both of which taught us that the “adults in the room” are clueless, liars, and incapable of managing anything or keeping us safe in a crisis.

We’ve been called out for being into childish things well into our adult years. That’s because we never felt safe as children because the adults around us showed us time and time again that they couldn’t be trusted and couldn’t keep us safe. We never *had* childhoods.

And the material artifacts of our childhoods are inaccessible to us because they were of now-obsolete technology which is impossible or expensive to recreate now. Our childhood memories are of a world alien to that of our adulthood (also because of 9/11)

The 2008 financial crisis meant we’re exceptionally poor compared to previous generations, and the markers of adulthood our parents got have been largely inaccessible to us, and there’s been nothing to replace them. It’s part of why the interest in occultism—access to initiation

We’ve been screwed over and over and over, and every other generation (except Pluto in Libra, usually) treats us like it’s our fault we developed the coping mechanisms we did in response to that and uses those mechanisms to justify mocking and belittling us.

Pluto in Scorpio, aka Millenials, are the fucked-over generation, the punching bag generation, the C-PTSD generation.

No wonder so many of us want to watch it all burn.
