but parents always fail to see how their children are separate human beings from them. we have dreams, goals, and ambition, that aren’t their own and, even if they probably mean well, we have free will to choose what we want and not what they want for us.
you know, at this point, i already have crippling low self-esteem bc i always feel i’ll never be good enough. it doesn’t matter if i’m contented with what i have, if it doesn’t suit their narrative or get them bragging rights or take them places, i won’t be enough.
