palo santo is ALSO endangered so dont use that either!!
if you actually want to burn plants for smoke cleansing/smudging use: rosemary, cinnamon sticks, pine tree stems, cloves, and lavender.

• smudging is an indigenous practice that non-native americans can’t do
• white sage isn’t for actual cleansing! it’s to invite spirits in.
• normal sage is fine to use, just don’t abuse it

by the way i am not indigenous/native american. i just happen to know a lot about cleansing so i can answer any questions but i am not an expert. i highly encourage you to research from indigenous/native americans about this topic. thank y’all so much and stay informed

my favourite cleansing herbs are rosemary + lavender together. the effects are powerful and it smells amazing

instead of smudging (since it’s a closed practice in some cultures around the world), take the ethical herb/plant bundles and burn/place them in the north corner of your space. the north represents earth and it will cleanse whatever you need to effectively
