The review process was a bold and proactive move but I stressed that it's up to #ICC States Parties, officials, and staff to take the report seriously and to implement the recommendations. 2/8

For the first time, this report (among other things) shines a bright light on what many of us already know working in this field - that, just like in many other international organisations and the legal profession as a whole, there is widespread misconduct at the #ICC. 3/8

The #ICC is not particularly unique or worse from many other workplaces. BUT, we are human rights practitioners, we should know better, we should do better, we should be trailblazers. You cannot say that you support victims of atrocities, prosecute or adjudicate allegations of war crimes, and then turn around and sexually harass the intern. 5/8 #ICC

I’m disappointed by the official #ICC reaction with the familiar “zero-tolerance policy” on bullying and harassment rhetoric, and that, “Across the Court, the report is being carefully reviewed and assessed, with a view to adopting fact-based, actionable recommendations.” 6/8

Why can’t the Court offer a human reaction & say they are deeply concerned & that they will (taking a line from the report) make a “clear commitment to a multi-pronged strategy to deal with predatory behaviour in the workplace, namely bullying, harassment & sexual harassment” 7/8
