Storytime:
I helped organising a youth event in Hungary a few years after the fall of Communist regimes across the Soviet block. Attendees came from all around the globe and the mood was great. So one night we decided to sing together. But what songs does everyone know?
[Cont.]
I'm guessing you'd suggest, as we did as well, that everyone knows popular American pop songs. But with English being second or even third language to most everyone there, people struggled to keep up with the rhythm and notes of the songs.
Then someone had a genius idea!
[Cont.]
Turns out many of the participants of the event were from ex Communist or sympathiser countries. And guess what? As it turns out, revolutionary songs were spread very well across the globe so all those people knew them. But of course they knew them in their own languages.

And even though the words of the nationalised versions of these songs did not match, the rhythm, notes and most importantly the *spirit* was the same. And these were easy to learn songs for those who did not know them.

Singing these songs together felt almost spiritual. And despite my anti-communist upbringing and beliefs, I couldn't help feeling the anger and hope which made the socialist uprising spread like wildfire across the globe. And why these revolutionists felt connected.
[Cont.]
Feeling connected with everyone in the room and across an entire ideology was elating, but also triggered anger against those who betrayed and perverted these hopeful dreams. Once again, the ruling class used and abused those who built the system which made them powerful.

I guess the point of this thread and Orwell's @AnimalFarmGame is that we should be cautious. Whatever corner of the political spectrum you are in, make sure those telling you who and what you should hate aren't just cheap tricksters picking your pocket whilst you are distracted.
Ps: I guess this thread is also a story about how good revolutionary and Communist song writers were at their job. Decades after the fall of the regimes of my childhood, I still find myself humming those songs every now and then. I'm sure every pop song writer would want that! :)
