New rules on hospitality:

From Friday, in health boards Greater Glasgow & Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire & Arran, Lothian and Forth Valley all licensed premises (apart from hotels for guests) have to close. Takeaway still allowed

Cafes without alcohol license stay open until 6pm.
In the rest of Scotland, pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes can operate 6am to 6pm but CAN'T serve alcohol inside. CAN serve alcohol outside until 10pm.

Rules about maximum of six people from 2 households remain

These measures are planned for 16 days
People in the 5 central belt health boards (above) asked to avoid public transport. No mandatory travel restrictions, but people in these health board areas advised not to leave the area, and people outside the area advised not to travel in.
Nicola Sturgeon announces £40m to support businesses affected by these restrictions. Wants to discuss with businesses how to "mitigate some or all" of the 20% contribution employers currently make towards furlough scheme (which ends at the end of Oct).
Face coverings are to become mandatory in "indoor communal settings" i.e. workplace corridors.
Scot Tory Holyrood leader Ruth Davidson says small businesses need more detail on the £40m support package: "They can't afford to wait. Many are running on empty"
Labour's Richard Leonard says hospitality venues "are not Sodom and Gomorrah". Asks "where is the evidence that covid is spreading in all hospitality settings?".

FM says she's not "pointing the finger of blame", but says these are higher risk settings where impact can be made.
Scot Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie says "to many people this no longer feels like a strategy, but a series of knee-jerk reactions"
