Good morning and welcome to the Genaro Garcia Luna show.

Today's hearing before Judge Cogan starts in about 15 minutes. Will be tweeting live updates to this thread, stay tuned here for updates as things get underway.… https://twitter.com/keegan_hamilton/status/1313667264579727360
Here's the "status update" for today's hearing, jointly filed by federal prosecutors and GGL's attorney.

On the agenda:

-Arraignment on new indictment
-Evidence that the gov has been handing over
-Trial date may be set, gov says will last 2-3 months https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.442343/gov.uscourts.nyed.442343.52.0_1.pdf
Already problems — lots of people on this conference call, including someone who has a Spanish-language news broadcast blasting. Court interpreter saying she can't hear anything over the background noise. Some people have not figured out how to "mute" yet during the pandemic.
…and we're underway: Michael Robotti, a prosecutor from the Chapo trial, leading things for the government. Cesar de Castro is the lead attorney for Garcia-Luna.

Lots of background noise and people not on mute still, judge's deputy trying to get it sorted out…
GGL now being arraigned on superseding indictment. Judge Cogan upset about the background noise: "I'm hearing Mexican reporters and I don't want to hear it."
Judge Cogan threatening to cancel and postpone hearing if people don't figure out mute: "I'm going to ask the Mexican participants once again to silence your mics, put it on mute."
…and today's GGL hearing has now been cancelled.

Judge Cogan lost patience with people on the conference call line not being on mute and talking in the background.

I will update this thread again when a new hearing date has been set.
