I was furloughed from my dream job then I was laid off due to the pandemic. During my hunt for a new job I applied to over 100+ positions & only had 3 interviews. One of those interviews was in person & they told me they really liked me & would get back to me later that week.
They were so straight forward with me & even said “we’ll call you this week we want you to meet our boss” I was ask to send my writing & social media examples from my previous positions, which I did immediately when I got home. I’m thinking, I’m definitely getting an offer.
You guessed it, I never heard from them again. Getting ghosted by a company is worse then getting ghosted by someone you’re crushing on. I put time & effort into meeting you, making a good impression, being a good example of an employee & you ghosted me. We are in a pandemic.
People are still unemployed & struggling.

This took place in July. I got an email YESTERDAY, saying,

“Good Morning,

Please see the attached document.”

It came with a password that didn’t even open up the document.

... I don’t even know how to react to that.
Luckily for me I have a great job now, but it’s their lost they didn’t have the decency to tell me they decided to go with another candidate. Which I have much more respect being told that then to be left in the dark.

If you decide not to hire someone TELL THEM.
