The debate on who is better between GEJ and PMB is an ongoing debate, that the whole country can't seem to agree on who is better and who is not. Am trying to put this out and be as fair as possible.
A THREAD ON THE PRESIDENTIAL PERFORMANCE OF GMB IN RELATION TO THAT OF GEJ.

In this thread am going to try to enumerate both performance using 7 indices and leaving final judgement to y'all
1. In governance, SECURITY of lives and property should be priority for those in power.

Nigeria is bedeviled by several security issues. Partly, this 4 are the major ones.

Fulani Herdsmen
Boko Haram
Southern Kaduna Crisis
Police Brutality
The killers are definitely more daring now. Killing with defiance and with an aura that bespoke invisibility. And on the part of the government, GMB regime seems to be less concerned about the killings or lack ideas on how to stop them. Could be a combination of both factors too.
The early momentum of the GMB regime against the Boko Haram sect seems to have turned the losses for the Nigeria Army, but here we are almost back to square.

Although it is worth mentioning that no part of the country is under active Boko Haram countrol like it was under GEJ.
And there seems to be no ending to the ever continuing Southern Kaduna crisis, impunity, not holding groups and people responsible for mass murders as contributed to the crisis that as led to loss of lives. No gainsaying that this killings predates this administration.
The other issue of the police force brutalising the citizens it was supposedly paid to protect. All this points to the fact that the GMB regime didn't perform better than the GEJ administration when it comes to security, infact he is performing worst than his predecessor.
2. WELFARE, School feeding programme, Trader Moni, N POWER, Soft loans by CBN during the pandemics all points to the fact that the GMB regime is far ahead of the GEJ administration on this index. In comparison the GEJ administration as SURE-P and soft loans to farmers.
3. EDUCATION, both administration have successive issues with funding of education, most especially at tertiary levels. And there is clear lack of willingness to tackle the problems of substandard education by both administration. One thing is clear,
Nigeria govt can't afford to fund education up to tertiary institutions anymore, we need a clear policy change in the education sector. Total defunding of tertiary levels of education, soft students loans is the way to go. It is clear GMB didn't do better than is predecessor here
4. HEALTH, similar to education, no willingness to invest, and no clear policy direction. Both administration can claim success though in the way to handle the EBOLA outbreak and the CORONAVIRUS outbreak respectively. But here too, GMB didn't do better than GEJ.
5. ECONOMY, We can all agree that the economy under GEJ was better than GMB on the surface. But putting all factors into consideration, especially the low price crude oil, which is a factor outside the power of GMB. It ain't that straightforward.
Successive government, GEJ and GMB inclusive did not do enough to diversify the economy. Both GEJ and GMB both took a step forward prioritizing agriculture which is good step. But it won't still be enough to cater for 200m Nigerians.
Economy under GEJ with the conditions GMB is working under will be as bad as this, if not worst as they are both inept and corruption was worst under GEJ. Few bold steps has been taken finally which if handled properly good translate to economic growth.
Much more needs to be done, but at least the downstream sector as been deregulated, which should attract investors, Outright ban or in some cases CBN not issuing forex for importation of non essentials and even essentials like food that can be produce here are necessary steps.
All this steps if well managed, should translate to economic growth in due course.

There's been wrong policies here and there from this regime, but all in all due to low oil prices which is our economy mainstay right now, I rate GMB regime slightly better.
6. INFRASTRUCTURE, I consider it foolhardy or purely sentimental to argue here that GMB regime didn't perform better than the GEJ administration in terms of infrastructures, even the projects started under GEJ are not abandoned, instead they are been completed.
That alone is unprecedented in the history of governance in Nigeria. I only wish Infrastructural projects are picked based on its value to economic growth not political expediency.

GMB regime gets the pass mark here for me.
7. UNITY AND RULE OF LAW, here is a tale of 2 opposites and why have consistently referred to GMB regime and GEJ Administration from the beginning of this thread. Whilst GMB as failed to respect the rule of law with every given opportunity, GEJ as most often done the opposite.
The lopsided appointments most especially when some of those appointees have failed, continue to make the southern part of the country feel like second class citizens.

If Jonathan scores 65%, Buhari scores 5% only.
