Someone should start a Corb Interior Hell blog https://twitter.com/archisound/status/1313794521105268737
I mean it's hard to imagine a living room less suited for living than this
The Garches plan is a nice composition but in 3d it's a horrible mess of pillars, curved walls and spaces that feel hollow, empty and left over even when full of stuff
The Unite d'Habitation apartments are nice but it's because the interiors are by Charlotte Perriand
But the shopping corridor, well it's just a corridor with ugly colours, disorganized windows and no style at all
I do like the brickwork and beton brut in his later style but still the spaces of Sarabhai house are just too narrow for comfort
In Shodhan house too, lots of redundant space and still the only place to put a sofa or a cabinet seems to be awkwardly in the middle of a room
I wonder if the strange trend towards difficult habitation in Japanese residential architecture is because Corb's influence was so great there, Antonin Raymond, Kunio Maekawa &c were his pupils
