I hate that ppl, especially younger ppl, are having to learn this lesson SO harshly, but please remember that your idols are NEVER infallible. They are human and they will disappoint you at one point or another. It’s inevitable. So never ever play the
‘Well my fave would never’

Games because... the truth is... we don’t know our idols. Not really. We may have interacted with them and met them, but we are not their friends. We are not part of their inner circle and it’s important to be aware of and prepared for them to fuck up and do shitty things.

Because EVERYONE - Every single person - does shitty things. It’s not an excuse or defense of those actions. It’s just an understanding that it can and WILL happen. People, even our idols we love and respect, make bad choices and fuck up.

And that’s not me saying ‘do not have idols/celebs you look up to and get inspired by’. Clearly not. I’m just saying, if you’re gonna be a fan of someone, understand that it comes with the acceptance that at some point, they will let you down in regards to how they handle stuff.
