15 years of Working/Running MUSC Mumbai and it took 90 minutes for the club to remove my name from the Club Website. We fans are just a statistic. Yes, I am ' voluntarily' stepping down from my voluntary position, just to able to voice my opinion, cause my Supporters Club can't.
We tried to, last summer, through this Tweet, which started going viral and got noticed by the club & we were asked to take it down and our access to ticketing was blocked for 3 days. A Supporters Club without an opinion, then aren't we just reduced to being an agent?
And I don't really need an official position or my name on the club website to continue doing what I have been doing for last 15 years. After all we started as a Fan Club who wanted to meet to watch matches together. So I will continue helping in organising screenings.
Lastly, will like to end with this small anecdote on how the club has changed just in the last few years. 1st: Dwight Yorke with the last League title we won at our Official home in Mumbai. 2nd: Ronny Jensen at a venue 5 mins (walking) away from our home cause SPONSORS/BRANDS.
I don't want our Supporters Club to lose our Official Status cause a LOT of people have worked very hard to get here. The SC will continue to help all the fans from Mumbai make their dream come true, through our allocation of tickets.
But I individually am going to voice my opinion even though it means I burn all the bridges I built for myself with the club.
I don't know when will I get back to going to Old Trafford again but I want to do the right thing. You all should do too, even though it makes a small difference.
