Quite often we all might have heard the saying, “pray without ceasing”. The very first time I came across that scripture it had me thinking for way too long, like how was I going to do that? Did that mean I wasn’t going to have to talk to anyone ever again?
Too many questions crumbled in my head without knowing where or how to get answers. Took me quite a number of years to get this whole thing figured out.
I recently figured how to crack that nut, praying without ceasing never meant we had to be on our knees and shouting or speaking in tongues all the time, which is now the new norm for most people.
If you’re not able to pray or speak in tongues, girlll you’re not been listened to by God. I mean how did we get here? Mixing what ought to be a sweet fellowship with your maker with a whole lot of deception!
Standing by the sink doing the dishes, cleaning around, taking a stroll around the compound, standing in the bathroom, doing the laundry etc.
the list goes on and on and on, offering snippets of prayer whilst doing these is the answer to “pray without ceasing!” having the consciousness of God in all you do, taking your burdens to him in short sentences, just the way you feel.
No formats, no time limit, no faking just be bear with him. Besides, he knows everything even before you decide to open your mouth. It really doesn’t matter how you decide to pray, or even where you decide to pray, have you not heard of “God is everywhere?”.
Don’t let anyone get into your head, or lay a pattern to which you talk to your Heavenly Father, most of us don’t approach our Earthly Fathers and talk to them in a formal way like we talk to some of our superiors a work or school, that’s because they are family!
Why then would you call God your father and relate to him like that boss in your office or that principal in your school? You are a child not an employee or a student, you belong to the household throw away the formalities!
You are a Royal Priesthood just like the Holy Scriptures have said, you need to offer your sacrifice to let it ascend to the Father as the Incense. In the morning offer, at night offer; just make sure you’re doing your Priestly duties.
Apparently ever since I found this out, prayer isn’t as stressful as it used to be some years before, it has become fun and very easy and I can pour out my heart to my Father and tell him exactly how I feel.
I hope after reading this your perspective on prayer will be changed as well, you wouldn’t see it as something only the “prayos” can do. You will be excited to involve God in all your changing scenes of life, because, trust me, he is very much interested!
