in my first year a professor scheduled a meeting out of nowhere and I was nervous bc I thought I was failing or sum.
I walked in, she pointed at the chair and told me “this is where you will cry, everyone cries here” & then asked “do you feel heard?”
I BALLED RIGHT THERE LMAO https://twitter.com/k10death/status/1313593734576177157">https://twitter.com/k10death/...

My second year when I found out I wasn’t going to be able to cover the cost of school and was looking to transfer, my professor held my hand in her office while I cried and worked out a plan for me to stay then proceeded to offer help cover medical expenses I had at the time.
During my time abroad I lost 2 family members and couldn’t return home for the funerals. My professor gifted me a poem, let me cry and talk about them during our 1 on 1 then shared a few pisco sours with me after class.
Anyways, this thread could be so much longer bc I really did cry in my advisors office 247, but basically all I’m trying to say is I wish there were more educators like this in the world and I’m forever grateful for their care towards me.
