The craziest thing about Trump voters is that most of them

- Dont want RvW overturned
- Dont want to lose ACA coverage
- Dont want to give billionaires tax cuts
- Dont want a low min wage

Yet they vote for all of it cuz they legit dont understand/believe thats his position

They’ve been so thoroughly lied to & distracted with invented culture war wedge issues that don’t affect their lives in any way, that they will go broke & lose their health care just to stick it to some imaginary immigrant caravan or whoever they’ve been told to hate this week

This is what cults do. They bankrupt you, separate you from reality, turn you against your own interest to serve a messiah against a shadowy enemy. Yes MANY Trump fans ARE evil shitheads. But many others are people who consider themselves kind who have been fully indoctrinated

Even most of the truly evil Trump supporters, the most racist violent hateful fuckwits, genuinely don’t understand how badly they‘re being robbed. They don’t argue in favor of the GOP’s positions because they *dint know what they are.* They only know the daily racist conspiracy

When you say “hey Trump has expanded the fed govt & is going to make you pay more for healthcare to give your $ to Goldman Sachs” they don’t argue in favor of trickledown economics. They just copy some meme about ANTIFA or QAnon or socialism. They have no idea what the issues are

You can see this every day online. I remember when ppl would actually argue an opposing perspective of what governing strategy would accomplish maximum good. Now people will deny Trump said things *even after watching video of him saying them* It’s a total breakdown of reality

I do NOT mean this as a defense of Trump voters. They MUST be defeated with a blue wave so huge it atomizes Trumpism forever. I mean to help explain. When you wonder “Are 41% of Americans simply inhuman?” The answer is no, they are VERY human- and being taken advantage for it

That’s just the voters though. The GOP congresspeople are much simpler: they’re greedy fucking ghouls who would strangle your mom to death to take the last penny from her pocket. Every single one should be voted out and scorned and shamed until they draw their last breath
