Re: Covid in Victoria.
I just wanted to tweet a few words about Covid in Vic. Feel free to scroll past. Today, actually this week, has been hard for a lot of us in Covid Lockdown in Vic. Close to tears time. I think there’s a number of reasons:
The cluster at Chadstone. The case in Kilmore. The horrible weather. The budget with not a lot for us to get over this. People are upset and scared and feeling like we are never getting out of this. The Kilmore case has now been declared a high transmission area,
ruining the numbers spread in Regional Vic. You know what doesn’t help? Tweets about the curfew not being founded in science. Tweets from an MP that the steel ring around regional Vic failed. Going Dan & the team for their failures. The suggestion that he’s to blame
for the economic impact on Victoria. You know what helps? Acknowledging that we’ve worked hard & still are. Acknowledging our kids lost important time at school. Thanking us for taking the medicine the country needed. This could have been your city.
On Monday the Vic LNP is tabling a no confidence motion in Daniel Andrews. I think he has nothing to worry about; except it takes him away from his focus on caring for us. Also, LNP politicians -
We are never going to forget what we went through this year. The pain. Ever. And we all vote. And you can be fucking certain, none of us will vote for any politician that thinks my life or my Nanas life are expendable - for the economy. #auspol #COVID19Victoria
That’s my soapbox for today. The callousness I’ve seen today for us is breathtaking. We won’t forget.
