As an artist and designer, @SB19Official’s photo teasers for HSH were so heavy in emotions and meanings for me. Huhuhu

Here’s my quick visual analysis using colors, element, aesthetics, and contexts.

Again, chill lang to and di na ako masyadong gagamit ng deep terms and specific theory for analysis kasi aabutin tayo ng next week hahhahaha

FIRST PHASE: Denial

Denial is the first phase of moving on. Bago pa ang lahat at hindi ka pa sanay na wala ka. Heto yung moment na pilit mong sinasabing okay ka lang at kakayanin mo rin.

@stellajero_’s teaser was a still-life image of a living room’s table sabi nila or as what I think it was one of those popular café or resto that lovers would go para mag date.

The photo is calm, it may have a touch of light and vibrant colors however yung muted colors ang nagdodominate sa portrait. Same as how we may appear happy outside however deep inside we are not.

The composition is also good by highlighting the flower and the vase. I find it unusual for a big vase to just hold one flower, a big table to be accented with a single flower.

You know somethng is off and something is missing. Just as how the first days after break up. Your routine changed wala ka ng sasabihang good morning or good night, no late night phone calls, daming nagbabago.

Some may not notice but i love the sharp and dark shadow emphasis on the vase. Just as the words of love in the teaser, “mananatili ang mahal, sa puso’t isipan”, shadows will always be with us. Your ex’s memories will always be part of us.

SECOND PHASE: Anger

It is normal na makafeel ng galit— sa sarili, sa ex, o di kaya sa mundo. After years or months na naging kayo, hahantong pala sa sukdulan at susuko na ang relasyon. Ikaw ba nagkulang? May mali ka ba?

With art history, spray paint used to display and release strong emotions (politics) to walls, and palces. Often tagged as vandalism. But this art of expression will never be wrong because it transforms your rage to an art and a statement that everyone could see.

With @keun16308352, we can see how vibrant and warm colors are used with tones of gray and black as background. The combo gives us a visual clash and fight, an intense feeling.

Just as the photo, we had our dark sides and light sides during this stage of moving on. We are unstable as we are engulfed with sino ba dapat sisihin or pagtapon sisi sa kabila kung bakit sumuko agad.

I love how lines were utilized in this art. It shows a lot of directions. Stiff lines means stiff emotions with one goal. During this stage we can’t easily back down. However, spray paint can reminds us how in the dark we are vulnerable.

THIRD PHASE: Bargaining

“What if” and “Remember” stage

What if kaya pa pala natin, what if we just need small space. Remember this time? Ang saya natin ano na nangyari, what if kaya pa natin ibalik? Remember nagpromise tayo sa isa’t isa?

@jah447798’s photo teaser reminds me of bargaining especially it was a notebook, where in art symbolizes “collections” and “lists”. During this stage we often have this tendenct of “pangengwenta” and “pagaalala” just to give this “sayang” feeling sa ex natin

The composition was just a simple notebook, flower, and a hand. However the cropping of it was masikip and putol. Just as how the relationship were. I love how the rose was so colorful enough to give importance on what’s on the notebook.

FOURTH PHASE: Depression

At the end of the day you’ll realize hindi mo makakalimutan ang lahat. Lahat ng alaala at pagsasama ay mananatilig sa isip at puso mo. Hanggang pagbabaliktanaw nalang lahat.

@imszmc’s teaser was my fave. See kahit na muted ang box lumilitaw ito kasi mas muted ang mga colors sa palibot nito. Pero makikita paring dark and sad ang ambiance.

The photo was a dark room with box of unknown things. This for me indicates the baggages left after niyong nagbreak up. Unattended, nakatambak lang sa isang lalagyan, isang tabig lang ay masisira at kakalat na naman uli at mahihirapan ka naman ligpitin.

It was inside a room, one way of saying it’s inside you. Dark, empty, and there’s still a box of mixed emotions and memories needed to be ordered. So better fix and keep that baggage away to avoid problems.

LAST PHASE: Acceptance

Moving on is not forgetting. Moving on is actually accepting. The truth is when you loved someone, you will love them forever. Find a safe place in your heart and keep them there.

Red, a powerful color that has many associations: life, love, and sometimes danger.

@JoshCullen_s photo teaser shows a hand with a red string. We all know what red string means, it is a hope that on the next life magkikita pa rin kayo at magiging kayo at ipagpapatuloy ang inyong pagmamahalan.

Colors are now vibrant indicating new life and hope, however tou can’t just deny the fact that may history kayo ni ex and you just can throw that.

When you can see the line composition and the layout, it is an assurance of living and moving on as it was a positive diagonal which indicates movement. Compared to other photos which are just horizontal or di kaya negative diagonal.

ADDITION:

The layout and design of the scattered letters are also a great touch. Especially it gives you the state of mind of people during break ups: nakalutang, magulo, at masakit sa ulo.
