A trend I’ve noticed (anecdotal)

A lot of my real world liberal friends, both in convo and social media, have said they will be mailing their vote.

Now mind you, these are rational people who aren’t necessarily “afraid” of the virus.

I think most people subconsciously recognize that the virus isn’t the menace the media makes it out to be. If they were truly afraid, they wouldn’t continue to attend social gatherings, or eat out at restaurants.

I know maybe 2 people under 60 years old that are actually skittish about leaving their home.

So the question is, why are so many Dems planning to mail their vote?

I think it has more to do with party loyalty, or their cult attachment to mail ballots, or to simply spite DJT

I think this is going to be a disaster for the democrats. Early returns on mail show that Republicans are already ahead or on equal footing with the democrats.

Meanwhile, Election Day turnout might be even LOWER than the Democrats are anticipating for the reason above

And now with the new push by the media to reignite the virus scare after Trump’s positive test, they’re inadvertently suppressing their traditional base even more. NYC is on the brink of a new full lockdown because of a slight uptick in a few neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, Republican enthusiasm for Trump is at record levels. He has flipped a lot of “Never Trumpers” in the last 3 years, plus the vitriol of the media towards him is driving even more supporters his way.

His rallies are insane. The flag, car, and boat parades are insane. The amount of yard signs I’m seeing compared to 2016 is INSANE. And at this point, most of his base plans to vote in person on Nov 3. The data has been clear that it’s perfectly safe to live life normally

The Democrats overplayed their hands with the mail in ballots. While their traditional boomer base and older “affluent liberal” millennials should be fine with mail, I think their expectations for zoomers and low information voters were too high

Mail-in ballots is a process. It takes actual effort to cast your vote beyond going to the actual voting station. They’ve had a hard enough time getting the latter demographics to vote in person, and if anything asking them to mail their vote is going to DECREASE turnout

Long story short, I expect Trump to have a BIG positive margin in swing states on election nights. The factors above are going to give him such a big lead out of the gate that it’s going to be impossible for Dems to rig the vote.
