At the height of the violence against the #Rohinga in #Myanmar a report was released detailing the military’s systematic destruction of villages. They’d chase people from their homes, burning entire towns to the ground. On one occasion a woman started running away...

...with her infant in her arms. She was stopped at a check point on a road out of town. A soldier ripped her baby out of her arms and threw it in a fire.

I remember being surprised at my ability to be shocked again. How does it get more evil than that?

Flash forward to the spring of 2018. A story breaks about a US border agent ripping a breastfeeding child out of the arms of its mother....

I remember wondering how much separates someone capable of that from the soldier in #Myanmar.
