When I was leaving the hospital earlier today the busy intersection nearby was taped up for unclear reasons. TV crew was on standby. Turns out a 25 yo @YaleLawSch student was struck by a truck & pronounced dead upon arrival @ the hospital. This intersection has been the site of many accidents over the past years, including in my time here. Most recently some rails went up after the last crazy accident. But something needs to happen regarding speeding vehicles & trucks here for our safety. @MayorElicker @NedLamont
The @YaleMed student safety committee has reached out to the CT house over safety at this intersection that is literally a cornerstone of our institution. Do what needs to be done. If it takes new speed limits and cameras on Frontage & MLK, make it happen @MayorElicker @NedLamont
rails are good, they protect people standing on the sidewalk waiting for a light from getting struck by the deviating, maybe drunk motorist. But it’s not enough. What of the ppl crossing the street, or the 
who god forbid, can’t stop easily, & drivers rush thru yellow lights??!
